Thank you for your interest in Minnesota State University, Mankato’s graduate program. The application form continues on the following pages. We estimate the entire online application process will require no more than fifteen minutes to complete.

Applicants must possess a bachelor’s degree earned at an accredited institution in the United States or the equivalent degree earned at an overseas institution. Please be advised that many graduate programs require additional credentials for admission consideration. Please consult Additional Program Requirements and/or the department web pages to determine the additional required credentials and application deadlines. International applicants should visit the International Applicant Webpage.

How to Apply Online...

To complete the on-line application, you will need the following information:
  • A non-refundable fee of $40 to be paid by a MasterCard or Visa credit card. If you are unable to pay the required fee by credit card, please do not begin the online application process. The fee is required to apply to any graduate program: certificate, degree, or post-master's degree program. No fee is required to apply as a non-degree seeking graduate student. Students currently enrolled in the Ronald E. McNair Achievement Program are not required to pay the application fee.
  • An official copy of transcript from the institution(s) you attended forwarded to Graduate Studies Office. If you have earned or attempted graduate level credits at a university, official transcripts from those institutions must also be provided. Students who attended Minnesota State University Mankato or any other Minnesota State Colleges and Universities(MNSCU) do not have to submit transcripts from this institution.
  • Please be advised that many graduate programs require additional credentials for admission consideration. Please consult the College of Graduate Studies and Research web pages and the departmental web pages to determine the additional required credentials and application.
  • When submitting an application, you are certifying that all the information provided is true. If the information contained in the application proves to be false, you may not be admitted and/or your registration may be terminated.

The Minnesota State University, Mankato Annual Security and Fire Safety Report is available for your review. This report is required by federal law and contains policy statements and crime statistics for the University. The policy statements address the school’s policies, procedures and programs concerning safety and security. Three years’ worth of statistics are included for certain types of crimes that were reported to have occurred on-campus, or in other University affiliated locations.
