Campus Recreation - Memberships

Group Exercise Classes ONLY Membership (Non-students)

THIS IS NOT AN OTTO RECREATION CENTER MEMBERSHIP.
Non-students are considered to be: faculty, staff, alumni, emeriti, spouse of the before mentioned, and spouse of a current student. This is not open to the general public.

This membership includes attendance in all group exercise classes on the Campus Recreation schedule for the semester you purchase the membership. This is NOT an Otto Recreation Center membership - if you purchase this membership you will only have access to attend Group Exercise Classes - you will NOT have access to the Otto Recreation Center and your MavCard will NOT be activated.
Summer Session (10 weeks): $25
Fall Semester (15 weeks): $25
Spring Semester (15 weeks): $25
 
This membership is ONLY for attending group exercise classes on the Campus Recreation schedule - this does NOT include access to the Otto Recreation Center, Highland Center Pool, or other Campus Recreation facilities or programs.

Otto Recreation Center - Day Guest Pass

GUEST PASSES ARE GOOD ONLY ON THE CALENDAR DATE THAT THEY ARE PURCHASED. ALL GUESTS MUST BE 18 YEARS OR OLDER AND SHOW A PHOTO ID WHEN ENTERING THE FACILITY. Guest passes give access to Otto Recreation Center, Highland Pool (during open swim times) & Myers Field House during open recreation times. Guest passes do NOT include access to the Myers Field House climbing wall or outdoor climbing pinnacle.
All guests must be 18 years old or older, sponsored by and accompanied at all times in the facility by a current student or current membership holder to Otto Recreation Center. Guests must show a photo ID to enter and will not be allowed to enter Otto Recreation Center without their sponsor.

Otto Recreation Center & Group Fitness Membership (non-students)

Faculty, staff, alumni, spouses of the before mentioned and spouses of students, and donors are eligible to purchase an Otto Recreation Center & Group Fitness Membership, which includes access to the Highland Center Pool. 

$100 Per Semester (Fall or Spring) $50 Summer Only
$200 Annually (Membership is valid for one calendar year from date of purchase)
*Mid-semester/summer we offer 1/2 price (pro-rated) memberships
Once we receive verification of your payment for the Otto Recreation Center & Group Fitness Membership we may contact you by email during regular business hours (M-F, 8am-5pm) if we need more information.  But, please allow 1-2 business days for membership to be activated if you have a MSU Tech ID.

MSU donors, spouses of faculty, staff, alumni, emerita, and students may not have a MSU Tech ID for a MavCard to be activated.  You will need to stop by MF 118 to pick up your membership card.

Otto Recreation Center Locker Rental

Current students and Otto Recreation members are able to rent lockers in the Otto Rec Center.
$20 Per Semester (Fall or Spring or Summer)
$40 for Two Semesters (remainder of current semester and next semester)
$50 for Three Semesters (remainder of current semester and next two semesters)
Campus Recreation provides the combination lock.  There is a $10 charge for lost locks.  There is no towel service.

Stop by the main Campus Recreation Office, Myers Field House (MF) 118, to be assigned your locker during regular business hours, Monday-Friday 8am-5pm.  Please provide a copy of your receipt for verification purposes.

Intramural Sports

2018 Fall - Intramural NCAA Pick'em

Intramural NCAA Pick'em will be done online through ESPN.com. If you don't already have a free account through ESPN, you will need to create one to participate.
Participants will make their picks of winners highlighted NCAA DI BCS football match-ups. Each week the person with the highest number of correct answers will receive an intramural champion T-shirt! Participants weekly scores will be added together to determine the full season Pick'em winner. Who will win a grand prize, a special autographed gift from the Minnesota Vikings. There is no cost to play Intramural NCAA Pick'em. If you don't already have a free account through ESPN, you will need to create one to participate. Information on how to join the MSU Campus Recreation Group will come in the form of a confirmation email. You can join in and play NCAA Pick’em at any point in the season.

How does the event work?
  • We will have two heats of up to 10 participants in each heat.
  • Heat one will begin at 9am on the Woodway treadmills and complete 20 minutes. 
  • Heat one will transition to the Lifefitness bicycles, by about 9:25am. 
  • Heat two will begin on the treadmills by about 9:30am.

Registration for the MSU, Mankato Annual Summer Job Fair is live! Each year the Recreation Major’s Club with the support of the Department of Recreation, Parks and Leisure Services, host a summer job fair. Whether you are a public, private or commercial organization with summer positions in the recreation field, you can be a part of this day and have the opportunity to interact with students from MSU.

The Summer Job Fair will be on Wednesday, January 30, 2019, from 9:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.

This is the perfect fair for employers who have jobs; both seasonal and permanent, internships, and practicum experiences; that they are looking to fill in the recreation field. Our students start thinking of summer jobs as soon as the New Year is over, and coming in January to our campus to connect with them is the ideal time! Early registration is available until January 4th, 2019.

We are again offering two packages so that organizations can choose what best suits their needs.

The Southern Minnesota Regional Science & Engineering Fair - Middle School/Senior High School takes place in the Centennial Student Union Ballrooms. The registration deadline is January, 10, 2019.  No late registrations or refunds.

AFLV Central & National Black Greek Leadership Conference-Fraternity & Sorority Life

The AFLV Central and National Black Greek Leadership Conference is a great opportunity for chapter and council leaders to gain valuable leadership skills and to network with fraternity and sorority leaders from all over the country. We will depart by bus from Mankato very early on the morning of February 7, 2019, and we will return late in the evening of February 10. The out-of-pocket expense for each attendee is $390. Incoming IFC or PHC council officers have subsidies available to them to cover all but $100 of this. Students interested in attending, but requiring additional financial assistance should contact John Bulcock, Fraternity & Sorority Advisor, Directly. The cost covers registration, transportation, hotel, and lunches/dinners while at the conference. Students will be responsible for breakfast/lunch while traveling to the conference and lunch/dinner while traveling back from the conference. Payment deadlines are as follows: $130 due November 20, 2018 $130 due December 14, 2018 $130 due January 14, 2019 Please know that, if you are making installment payments according to the above timeline, you will need to go through the complete registration process each time you make a payment.
