Adventure Education Program

Maverick Adventures- Snow-Ga Pilot Program

We will meet at the Otto Rec entrance. Event will take place Minnesota State University, Mankato intramural fields and fitness trails.
Join us for a 1 hour guided yoga and mindfulness snowshoe pilot program with Master Yoga Instructor, Carly Hopper. We will enjoy time outside, guided yoga and meditation, and cookies! This event is limited to the first 11 participants.
This trip is only open to current MNSU Students, as we work to expand our programming options into the Outdoor Recreation realm. We are doing pilot programming with only MNSU Students, however we hope to have similar offerings in the future for students as well as community members.

2019 Whipper Snapper Spring Climbing Competion - Competitor Registration

Sunday, April 7, 2019  9:00AM until 6:30PM
The 2019 Whipper Snapper Spring Climbing Competition is being held in the Myers Field House of Minnesota State University, Mankato. Parking for the event is available in Lot 7 and Lot 8 (Free parking on Sunday) adjacent to the Myers Field House, nearest to the climbing wall. Please see http://www.mnsu.edu/maps/university/parking.pdf for a map of where Lots 7 and 8 are located.
Join us for the 2019 Whipper Snapper Climbing Competition hosted by Minnesota Sate University, Mankato!  The Whipper Snapper will consist of both top rope and lead climbing (there will be NO Bouldering or Speed Climbing as part of this event). Due to the large number of people projected, the competition will be broken into two sessions. The first session will be beginner and intermediate categories and the second session will be advanced and open divisions (see schedule on the Event Website www.mnsu.edu/campusrec/events/whippersnapper/ for more details). This will be a modified redpoint format competition with finals in the top two divisions. There will be raffle prizes from sponsors and competition awards for the top three climbers in each category.

THIS IS NOT AN OTTO RECREATION CENTER MEMBERSHIP.
Non-students are considered to be: faculty, staff, alumni, emeriti, spouse of the before mentioned, and spouse of a current student. This is not open to the general public.

This membership includes attendance in all group exercise classes on the Campus Recreation schedule for the semester you purchase the membership. This is NOT an Otto Recreation Center membership - if you purchase this membership you will only have access to attend Group Exercise Classes - you will NOT have access to the Otto Recreation Center and your MavCard will NOT be activated.
Summer Session (10 weeks): $25

This membership is ONLY for attending group exercise classes on the Campus Recreation schedule - this does NOT include access to the Otto Recreation Center, Highland Center Pool, or other Campus Recreation facilities or programs.

Otto Recreation Center - Day Guest Pass

GUEST PASSES ARE GOOD ONLY ON THE CALENDAR DATE THAT THEY ARE PURCHASED. ALL GUESTS MUST BE 18 YEARS OR OLDER AND SHOW A PHOTO ID WHEN ENTERING THE FACILITY. Guest passes give access to Otto Recreation Center, Highland Pool (during open swim times) & Myers Field House during open recreation times. Guest passes do NOT include access to the Myers Field House climbing wall or outdoor climbing pinnacle.
All guests must be 18 years old or older, sponsored by and accompanied at all times in the facility by a current student or current membership holder to Otto Recreation Center. Guests must show a photo ID to enter and will not be allowed to enter Otto Recreation Center without their sponsor.

Otto Recreation Center & Group Fitness Membership (non-students)

Faculty, staff, alumni, spouses of the before mentioned and spouses of students, and donors are eligible to purchase an Otto Recreation Center & Group Fitness Membership, which includes access to the Highland Center Pool.

$200 Annually (Membership is valid for one calendar year from date of purchase)
*Mid-semester/summer we offer 1/2 price (pro-rated) memberships
Once we receive verification of your payment for the Otto Recreation Center & Group Fitness Membership we may contact you by email during regular business hours (M-F, 8am-5pm) if we need more information.  But, please allow 1-2 business days for membership to be activated if you have a MSU Tech ID.

MSU donors, spouses of faculty, staff, alumni, emerita, and students may not have a MSU Tech ID for a MavCard to be activated.  You will need to stop by MF 118 to pick up your membership card.

Otto Recreation Center Locker Rental

Current students and Otto Recreation members are able to rent lockers in the Otto Rec Center.
$20 Per Semester (Fall or Spring or Summer)
$40 for Two Semesters (remainder of current semester and next semester)
$50 for Three Semesters (remainder of current semester and next two semesters)
Campus Recreation provides the combination lock.  There is a $10 charge for lost locks.  There is no towel service.

Stop by the main Campus Recreation Office, Myers Field House (MF) 118, to be assigned your locker during regular business hours, Monday-Friday 8am-5pm.  Please provide a copy of your receipt for verification purposes.

Only international students and students who have participated in a study abroad program and are graduating this May can register to receive this Stole. In case you are unavailable to collect the stole during the ceremony on May 9, you can still register for it and collect it from the Center for Education Abroad and Away located in the lower level of Morris Hall. Their office timings are 8 am to 4:30 pm.

Intramural Sports

2019 Spring - Intramural 8-ball Pool Singles

Matches will take place at the billiards tables in the Maverick Bullpen at a time agreed upon between the competitors. Participants will be emailed schedules of play after the close of registration.
There is no fee from Campus Recreation to play Intramural Singles 8-Ball League, however players will be responsible for table fees charged by the Maverick Bullpen.  The number of matches & number of dates is dependent on number of participants.

2019 Spring - Intramural Darts Cricket Singles

Matches will take place at the dart boards in the Maverick Bullpen at a time agreed upon between the competitors. Participants will be emailed schedules of play after the close of registration.
There is no fee from Campus Recreation to play Intramural Singles Cricket Darts, however players will be responsible for board fees charged by the Maverick Bullpen.  The number of matches & number of dates is dependent on number of participants.

2019 Spring - Intramural Table Tennis - Singles

Matches will take place at the Campus Rec table tennis tables in Pennington Hall at a time agreed upon between the two competitors. Participants will be emailed schedules of play after the close of registration.
There is no cost to play Table Tennis Singles. The number of matches & number of dates is dependent on number of participants.

2019 Spring - Intramural Volleyball (6 vs. 6)

Games will take place in Otto Recreation Center, Monday thru Thursday nights between 6pm-11pm.
The cost is $70/per team. A Mandatory managers meeting will be held on March 21st in HC 1700A&B from 4:00pm-4:30pm. Game schedules will be distributed at the managers meeting.

Alternative Spring Break 2019

The 2019 Alternative Spring Break trip is a group of students traveling to St. Louis, MO to work on a service project over Minnesota State University, Mankato's spring break. If you are interested in participating, please complete the ASB application on Engage. Trip departs Sunday and returns Saturday. If you are selected to participate in the trip, you can use this online payment system to pay your commitment fee and other payments for the trip.
