Adventure Education Program

The Great Maverick Adventure: Maverick Adventures Pilot Program

Thursday, April 26, 2018  2:00pm-5:00pm
This event will be held on the campus of Minnesota State University, Mankato.  We will start the event at 2:00pm at HC1700B.  Please be prompt and have your entire team present, as the race will start after rules and overview of the event.
We are planning a great Amazing Race style event where you will be traveling around campus and perform various physical and mental challenges and clues leading you from stop to stop. Your team will need to solve puzzles, show endurance, and be creative to make it to the finish line!

Teams will be composed of 3 People, including one team captain. (The person who registers for this event.)

The event will begin on Thursday April 26th at 2:00pm at HC1700B
(Near the Athletic Training Department, as well as near Einstein's Bagels)
Please plan to have your entire team at the start of the event at 2:00pm for rules and an overview before the adventure starts!

Campus Recreation - Memberships

Group Exercise Classes ONLY Membership (Non-students)

Non-students are considered to be: faculty, staff, alumni, emeriti, spouse of the before mentioned, and spouse of a current student. This is not open to the general public.

Fee includes attendance in all group fitness classes on the Campus Recreation schedule for the semester you purchase the membership.

This membership is ONLY for attending group exercise classes on the Campus Recreation schedule - this does NOT include access to the Otto Recreation Center, Highland Center Pool, or other Campus Recreation facilities or programs.

Otto Recreation Center - Day Guest Pass

GUEST PASSES ARE GOOD ONLY ON THE CALENDAR DATE THAT THEY ARE PURCHASED. ALL GUESTS MUST BE 18 YEARS OR OLDER AND SHOW A PHOTO ID WHEN ENTERING THE FACILITY. Guest passes give access to Otto Recreation Center, Highland Pool (during open swim times) & Myers Field House during open recreation times. Guest passes do NOT include access to the Myers Field House climbing wall or outdoor climbing pinnacle.
All guests must be 18 years old or older, sponsored by and accompanied at all times in the facility by a current student or current membership holder to Otto Recreation Center. Guests must show a photo ID to enter and will not be allowed to enter Otto Recreation Center without their sponsor.

Otto Recreation Center & Group Fitness Membership (Non-students)

Faculty, staff, alumni, spouses of the before mentioned and spouses of students, and donors are eligible to purchase an Otto Recreation Center & Group Fitness Membership, which includes access to the Highland Center Pool.

Once we receive verification of your payment for the Otto Recreation Center & Group Fitness Membership we may contact you by email during regular business hours (M-F, 8am-5pm) if we need more information.  But, please allow 1-2 business days for membership to be activated if you have a MSU Tech ID.

MSU donors, spouses of faculty, staff, alumni, emerita, and students may not have a MSU Tech ID for a MavCard to be activated.  You will need to stop by MF 118 to pick up your membership card.

Otto Recreation Center Locker Rental

Current students and Otto Recreation members are able to rent lockers in the Otto Rec Center.
$20 Per Semester (Fall or Spring or Summer) - FALL 2017 NOW ONLY $10 FOR THE REST OF THE SEMESTER! $40 for Two Semesters (remainder of current semester and next semester)
$50 for Three Semesters (remainder of current semester and next two semesters)
Campus Recreation provides the combination lock.  There is a $10 charge for lost locks.  There is no towel service.

Stop by the main Campus Recreation Office, Myers Field House (MF) 118, to be assigned your locker during regular business hours, Monday-Friday 8am-5pm.  Please provide a copy of your receipt for verification purposes.

Intramural Sports

Spring 2018 - Intramural Golf Scramble

Wednesday, May 2, 2018  3:00pm
The 2-person Intramural Golf Scramble will take place at Terrace View Golf Course, just south of Mankato on Hwy 22.  Tee times will be assigned after registration closes, with the first grouping teeing off at 3pm.
The tournament is a 9-hole, 2-person scramble format tournament. There will be various pin prizes available throughout the tournament.
The cost is $30/per team to cover green fees and pin prizes. Participants must register as a 2-person team. Teams may rent a cart at the cost of $16 per team payable at Terrace View upon check-in.

Personal Training Packages (Current Students)

Cost for Current Students:
  • 3 Sessions: $50
  • 5 Sessions: $75
  • 10 Sessions: $125
  • 20 Sessions: $200
You must also purchase and complete a Fitness Assessment (Cost: $20) before you begin any personal training.

If you are simply purchasing additional personal training sessions we will inform your trainer. You do not need to complete another Fitness Assessment.

All individual personal training packages and SGPT packages expire one year from purchase date.

Glow Time 5K

Friday, April 27, 2018  7 - 9 pm

MSU Fitness Trail

Who said it’s time to go home at dark? Grab your family and friends and come help us light up the night! It’s Glow Time 5K is presented by MSU students and will be held at the Minnesota State University Mankato fitness trail on April 27th, 2018. It’s Glow Time 5K check-in will be held between 7:00-7:45pm. Plus, enter your name in our drawings for a chance to win great prizes provided to us by our sponsors. The 5K will start at 8:00pm, and our drawings will be held following the completion of the last participant; must be present to win. In addition, all proceeds from the glow run go towards benefiting LEEP, so come show your support while having fun! Feel free to bring additional glow apparel as two glow sticks are provided in each registration pack. Registration packs also include a t-shirt (if registered before April 4th, 2018), two glow sticks, free giveaways, and a chance to enter our sponsored drawings.
